### World Premiere of “Hometown Reflections” with Michigan Philharmonic

**On April 24, 2026, the Michigan Philharmonic will present *The Sounds of the Pacific Rim* at The Hawk Theatre, Farmington Hills, featuring erhu virtuoso and composer Xiao Dong Wei in the world premiere of her original work *Hometown Reflections*.**

### Event Overview

The concert blends **Chinese classical music**, **Japanese taiko drumming**, and **Western orchestral traditions** in a single program spanning two millennia of Pacific Basin heritage . Xiao Dong Wei, a Chinese-American erhu master and composer, will perform alongside the Michigan Philharmonic under Music Director & Conductor Nan Washburn.
